A cool and perfect ripening season pre-vintage 2017. Fruit hand-harvested from the Baxendale vineyard, showing lovely melon and nectarine characters, with excellent acidity. Barrel fermentation in 100% in new French oak Puncheons, with extended time on lees in oak until bottling, has built texture, complexity and palate weight; the aromas of nectarine, white peach, and ripe melons combine with nutty tones and subtle vanillin characters and the palate is elegant and stylish.
