Borg's frozen Extra Flaky Puff Pastry is a flaky pastry carefully crafted using the traditional French methods of pastry making to create light and flaky layers of pastry which just melts in your mouth.  "Perfect home baked pastry every time!"

Ingredients

Wheat flour, water, margarine [vegetable oil, water, salt, emulsifier (471, 472c) antioxidant (304), natural flavour], salt

Preparation Instructions

1. Separate sheets whilst still frozen using a long bladed knife. Place unused frozen sheets in a plastic bag, tie, and return to the freezer. 2. Thaw at room temperature for approximately 5 to 10 minutes or alternatively in a refrigerator overnight. 3. Prepare puff pastry recipe using partially frozen or very cold pastry. Better shapes are created with ease. 4. Use a sharp knife or cutter to cut pastry. 5. Always bake pastry in a pre-heated oven, and after baking, cool on racks. 6. Brush pastry edge with water or egg glaze to seal the edges together. 7. Cut an air vent in the top of the pies to allow steam to escape.

Usage Instructions

Soggy Pastry will occur if: • Place hot filling onto pastry and cover the pastry, this will cause the pastry to come out soggy. • Too much liquid in the filling • Work in a cool kitchen using marble or a laminated surface dusting with flour the working surface. • Handle the pastry as little as possible, if you hands are hot run them under a cold tap or they will make the pastry sticky. • All ovens differ in temperature and cooking times. If uncertain, check frequently to avoid over-cooking.

Storage Instructions

Keep frozen until required. Store at or below -18°C in freezer compartment see best before date. If stored in a normal refrigerator at +5°c pastry will be maintained for 2 days. Do not refreeze once thawed
